What is a toner?
A toner is used to help balance the skin’s pH and remove any remaining impurities that you may have missed in cleansing with a cleanser. They can also help target specific problems like dryness, acne, oiliness and dullness. The right toner will help create a perfectly primed face for your serums and moisturizers to follow.
What are our toners made from?
Now more than ever, toners are formulated with ingredients that balance and nourish the skin. So, it’s best to avoid any toner that contains alcohol, which can be drying and disruptive to your skin’s natural barrier. The main ingredients in all our toners are either lavender, lemon or rose hydrosol and witch hazel.
Hydrosols, also known as flower waters or herbal distillates, are the aromatic water byproducts produced during the steam distillation of plants to extract essential oils.
Witch Hazel cleanses away any excess oil and make-up leftover from cleansing. It also helps reduce pore size and inflammation around the eyes and face by soothing it.
If you’ve tried toners in the past, and felt they were drying, there’s a good chance that it contained alcohol that would dry out the face. Luckily all our toners are alcohol-free and more like your favorite water infused with fresh fruit or flowers for added benefits.
How do you use a toner?
A toner can be applied after cleansing and before applying serums and moisturizers. How you apply it would be based on your personal preference. Our toners are packaged in a spray bottle so you can spray it directly on your face (with your eyes closed, of course), apply it on your hands then pat on to your face, or you can use cotton round and apply it to your face.
Our toners also make excellent body sprays wherever you are. Since they conveniently come in a spray bottle, just spritz and go.
Which SanRe Organic toner is right for me?
