🌸 Reduce Transepidermal Water Loss Naturally
When I first started formulating SanRe’s moisturizers, I spent countless hours researching natural ingredients that truly feed the skin, not just coat it. My goal has always been to create skincare that’s so clean, pure, and nutrient rich that your skin can actually breathe and heal itself.
One ingredient kept showing up again and again, in ancient remedies, modern dermatology research, and my own test batches: beeswax.
The more I learned, the more I fell in love with its ability to really help retain moisture, repair the skin barrier, and prevent the appearance of premature aging! I was also thrilled to initially learn that it comes only from cherished and truly pampered female honeybees, foraging on pure and protected areas, as required to produce certified USDA Organic beeswax.
Today, it’s one of the key ingredients in many of my forever favorite creations, like: Siesta Sunset, Lavender Dream, C-Love, and Eye Candy.
🌿 Why Beeswax Is So Powerful
Beeswax works its magic by forming a breathable, protective layer over your skin. This helps minimize something called transepidermal water loss (TEWL), which is simply the water your skin loses to the environment.
Too much TEWL can cause:
• Dryness and flaking
• Dull, uneven texture
• Fine lines and premature wrinkles
Beeswax acts like a natural moisture seal. It locks in hydration without clogging pores or suffocating skin. It’s also full of vitamin A and fatty acids, which help strengthen your skin barrier and promote smoother, more elastic skin over time.
Unlike synthetic occlusives or silicones, beeswax is biocompatible, meaning your skin recognizes and works with it, not against it.

I tend to drift toward richer moisturizers in the colder months myself. My skin just drinks them up!
Siesta Sunset — a deeply restorative cream with avocado and sea buckthorn oils. The beeswax helps seal in moisture while the oils assist to replenish lost nutrients. It’s my winter essential for dry or mature skin.

I’m especially proud of our newer Eye Nectar Balm. It’s even richer and more concentrated than our creams, and for good reason.
Did you know that the skin around your eyes doesn’t produce sebum, your skin’s natural oil barrier? Without it, that area is more prone to dryness, creasing, and premature aging.
Eye Nectar is designed to act like your skin’s missing sebum. With a Generous dose of organic beeswax, it greatly assists to lock in moisture, support skin resilience, and protects against environmental stressors. It’s my personal nighttime Must-Have. I never skip it, especially in the Winter.
